Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. Bernard School? No. We welcome students from all backgrounds. All students learn about the Catholic faith and attend Mass two times a week.
Is there a dress code? Yes. All students in K-6th grade wear uniforms. Our dress code is explained in detail in the school handbook.
How long is the school day? Students should arrive by 7:50am. After 8am, students are considered tardy. Dismissal is at 3pm. Every Monday, there is morning prayer and gathering in Zahn Hall. On Friday, at the end of the day, students gather to pray before going home.
Do you offer hot lunch? Yes. St. Bernard offers a hot lunch program (through Wabash City Schools) for all full day students. A monthly menu is sent home for preview and ordering.
Is there an after school program? For families who need more time to get to St. Bernard from work or home, in emergency situations, and to help parents with work/life balance, we offer an after school program until 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, for students in Pre-K through 6th grade. Fees are charged per child, per day, and billed monthly.
Do you offer tuition assistance? We have several scholarship opportunities for all families. For more information about scholarships and other financial assistance, contact the school office.
How do we register? Stop by the school office to pick up registration materials. Students must provide birth and baptismal certificates, and proof of immunizations. If applicable, transcripts from previous schools are also required. St. Bernard School accepts enrollment any time during the school year.
How can we see if St. Bernard is a good fit for our family? At St. Bernard, we offer private tours and an annual Open House in February for interested families. We also offer shadow days where your child can visit and spend the day with his/her future classmates.
